Course Cancellation, Postponement and Refund Policy

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on when refunds of course fees will be made by Imperial English UK and how they will be calculated, following the withdrawal or suspension of courses. This policy relates to the portion of the fee that is paid directly by the student, participants or by a sponsor.

A. Online Courses

By booking for an Online Course and making a payment of full or instalment fee, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Under this refund policy and under guidance of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your booking at any time at the following terms:

1. If you cancel the course booking within 14 calendar days of registering your confirmation and before the start of the course without giving any reason, you are entitled to a full refund of the fee paid.

2. Cancellations and refunds in circumstances outside those described above, and/or following the expiry of the 14-day cancellation period, are subject to the terms and conditions set out in this Cancellation, Postponement and Refund Policy. For the avoidance of doubt, the cancellation period will expire 14 days after the date of the registration confirmation.

3. Once you begin the course, you are no longer eligible for a full refund, even if you ask for a refund within 14 days of payment.

4. Once a course has been redeemed, we cannot grant a refund.

5. All refund requests should be sent to admin@imperial-english.co.uk or posted to Imperial House, 126 Petersfield Road, Birmingham, B28 0BD.

6. Any refund will take up to 30 days to process.

B. Classroom Courses

By booking on a classroom course and making a payment in full or in instalments, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Under this refund policy and under guidance of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your booking at any time at the following terms:

1. If you cancel the course booking within 14 calendar days of registering your confirmation and before the start of the course without giving any reason, you are entitled to a full refund of the fee paid.

2. Cancellations and refunds in circumstances outside those described above, and/or following the expiry of the 14-day cancellation period, are subject to the terms and conditions set out in this Cancellation, Postponement and Refund policy. For the avoidance of doubt, the cancellation period will expire 14 days after the date of the registration confirmation.

3. Imperial English UK reserves the right to reschedule any classroom course without prior notice.

4. Imperial English UK reserves the right to change the tutor stated on the course page without prior notice.

6. Any refund will take up to 30 days to process.

C. Live Online Courses / workshops / seminars

By booking on live online courses, workshops, seminars, trainings, and making a payment in full or in instalments, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Under this refund policy and under guidance of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your booking at any time at the following terms:

1. If you cancel the course booking within 14 calendar days of registering your confirmation and before the start of the course without giving any reason, you are entitled to a full refund of the fee paid.

2. Cancellations and refunds in circumstances outside those described above, and/or following the expiry of the 14-day cancellation period, are subject to the terms and conditions set out in this Cancellation, Postponement and Refund Policy. For the avoidance of doubt, the cancellation period will expire 14 days after the date of the registration confirmation.

3. You may reschedule the course up to 7 days before the start date of the course at no additional cost.

4. Imperial English UK reserves the right to reschedule any online course without prior notice.

5. Imperial English UK reserves the right to change the tutor stated on the course page without prior notice

D. Studying courses on apps (course apps)

By downloading the course apps from the Apple Store, Google PlayStore or our website and making a payment in full, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

There are two ways for you to cancel the course subscription and get a refund. The cancellation and refund methods differ based on the way you have subscribed to the App:

1. If you have purchased your subscription via our website: We grant you the option to cancel the subscription and receive a refund provided that you are not satisfied with the App. However, this cancellation option is subject to several conditions:

• You must contact us within 5 days of the initial purchase and before the end of your subscription term.

• You can demonstrate that you have followed the customised / purchased course for 5 consecutive topics (e.g., by showing your tracking data).

Following the receipt of your refund application, we will notify you by email if it is approved. We will use your original payment method for the refund. Typically, it takes around 30 days to process the refund.

Please be aware that your purchased subscription does not cancel automatically if you delete the App. You should cancel the subscription before deletion of the App.

2. If you have purchased a subscription via any app distribution plat-form (Apple Store, Google PlayStore, etc.):

You can cancel your subscription with your app distribution platform by reaching out to Apple or Google (or other applicable app distribution platforms) directly with any refund requests. For example, Apple is typically able to honour all refund requests within 30 days of the purchase date (at their discretion). Customers who subscribed to Simple through Google Play will need to follow instructions at https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637.

E. Cancellation by Imperial English UK

Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to our courses, workshops, seminars, and trainings, Imperial English UK reserves the right to withdraw or cancel any course. If for any reason we cancel a course, all course fees will be returned in full.

F. Refund Calculation and Terms

1. All refunds will be calculated in UK Sterling. The Imperial English UK will not refund any shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations, or offer compensation for any bank or other charges incurred. Bank charges will be deducted from the refund.

2. Where payment of tuition fees was split between more than one payee, any refund due will be made in proportion to the original split.

3. Cash refunds cannot be made.

4. Documentary evidence of sponsorship is required before any refund of personal contributions towards fees can be considered. This may include copies of award notices from funding bodies, or letters from sponsors confirming details of the fee support to be provided.

5. All refunds will be paid back using the original payment method, i.e. if paid by bank transfer, it will be refunded back to the same bank account.

G. IMPORTANT STATEMENT

The Refund Policy shall be effective as of August, 2022 The Refund Policy is an integral part of the Terms of Use and shall be binding for the users upon the acceptance of the Terms of Use. Any translation from the English version is provided for your convenience only. In the event of any discrepancies between the English version and any other translated version, the English version shall prevail.
